The Cat Action Team Inc., (CAT) of Prince Edward Island (PEI), is an all-volunteer registered charitable organization working to care for and control the feral and stray cat population throughout the province.  CAT was founded in November 2000 in Charlottetown by a group of citizens who shared a concern for the well-being of stray and feral cats.

The Cat Action Team assists Island communities with managing stray and ferral cat colonies by operating a trap-neuter-return (TNR) program to control the population and ensure that each cat receives a veterinary checkup before being returned to the colony.

Other programs include ongoing care to ensure ferral/stray cats have the food, water and shelther they need, as well as an informal adoption network for kittens and tame adult strays. Their volunteers work very hard to reunite stray cats with their families.

Global Pet Foods Charlottetown and Summerside have chosen the Cat Action Team of Prince Edward Island as their Feed4 charity because of their continued commitment to supporting island communities in managing ferral and stray cat populations. Their volunteer team works tirelessly to make sure ferral/stray felines are treated humanely, while ensuring each colony is provided with food, water, and shelter. To date they have have placed over 100 wooden cat shelters in feral cat colonies so stray and feral cats can seek protection.

Volunteers make and sell catnip mice across the island to help fund surgeries for cats in need; help us do what we can and give back with the help of Nutram!
