Rescue NL began operation in May 2015. They are an incorporated non-profit organization that operates under a no-kill policy lead by a board of directors with a combined 42 years of animal rescue experience. They take in animals that have been seized by the authorities (RCMP or RNC), surrendered by their owners, or transferred from another shelter where the animal has reached their holding limit and they are scheduled to be euthanized. Animals are held in a network of carefully selected foster homes and a private shelter.

Rescue NL feeds, exercises, bathes, socializes, plays with and provides comfort to animals who have been abused, neglected or abandoned. They drive the wounded and sick to veterinarians, change bandages, administer medications and monitor recovery with the goal of finding each animal a loving home.     

Global Pet Foods St. John's has chosen Rescue NL as their Feed4 charity because of the incredible work they do to help Newfoundland animals. Each year, Heather and her team rescue over 100 animals of all types and sizes. Whether it's a dog or cat, pig, goat, horse, or even a rooster - Rescue NL provides the tender love and care needed to get them healthy and happy before finding them their forever home.

The work that Rescue NL does is completed by community volunteers, and their efforts are funded solely through public support and fundraising. We believe it is important to support Rescue NL in any way we can so that they may continue helping local animals in need.
