We are Operation Freedom Paws Canada, located on Vancouver Island, Qualicum Beach, BC. We are  non-profit organization (BC Society 77042735 BC0001 CRA #772042735RR0001) that matches rescue dogs with individuals who have Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), Complex-Post Traumatic Stress (CPTS) and/or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) symptoms, or other physical, neurological, psychological or mobility needs.

Individuals are selected for this program after the recommendation of their medical practitioner, mental health professional, and following an extensive personal interview with program facilitators ensuring they are prepared to embark on this phase of their healing, and the daily responsibilities dog guardianship entails.

Program participants are then paired with a dog during training sessions to begin forming a relationship. This transition is completed at a speed which best suits both the human, and the dog, and only once a bonded relationship has been established and program coordinators are confident in a successful match.
