Wild ARC is a non-profit organization who helps to preserve and protect local wildlife in the community by educating the public about their impacts on the wildlife around them, as well as providing care for sick, injured, and orphaned wild animals. Wild ARC admits around 3,000 patients for care every year and the numbers continue to grow. 

The public can receive the most up to date information on wildlife welfare in the WildSense newsletter Wild ARC puts out bi-monthly, as well as following the Critter Cam, participating in animal sponsorships, volunteering, engaging in webinars, and visiting the Annual Open House.  The Wild ARC Facebook page is another great place for the community to connect with this organization to learn valuable information about local wildlife, as well as understanding the needs of current rescued animals and ways they can be supported. 

If one sees an animal in possible distress, they can also call Wild ARC and describe the situation to their knowledgeable staff members who can then advise on whether the animal is in distress and requires rescue, or is simply exhibiting natural behaviour for its species.  The staff and volunteers work diligently to provide the best possible care for the wildlife that does need to be brought in, so that they can return to nature as soon as they are able to safely live out life in the environment where they belong.  Wild ARC serves a wide-array of local wildlife in need, such as birds, bats, river otters, racoons, deer, squirrels, raptors, rabbits, amphibians, and many more!

Borden Mercantile Co. Ltd. believes in supporting Wild ARC because we have a passion for animals, both domestic and wild, and have been able to partner with them in rescuing injured wildlife we have found.  They take great care to ensure they get the details on the animal's situation and where it was rescued from, to provide it with outstanding care so that the animal has the best chance of returning to its home.  Wild ARC also allows you to call in to check on a rescued animal you have brought in to hear how its situation is progressing and next steps in the recovery process.

Another reason Borden Mercantile Co. Ltd. believes in supporting this organization is because Wild ARC does not receive the same amount of government funding as the SPCA does, even though they are affiliated with them.  Wild ARC relies on physical and financial donations from the community, as they only receive any leftover money from the SPCA government funding, despite the fact that they too, have been serving thousands of animals over the years.

As we see more and more development into wildlife habitats, it is essential that we have amazing supports in place like Wild ARC.  We need places like this to care for our wild neighbours and educate the community on how they too can care for wildlife, so they can coexist safely with the animals which will ensure they are sustained for future generations.  There are also many misconceptions circulating about animals, which leads us to hold Wild ARC in high regard for their strong commitment to education which they offer in a variety of formats to reach all different audiences.
