Vote for Humane Kind Update

In May 2020, Nutram recognized the increasing need for pet shelter funding during the global pandemic. Through our Vote for Humane Kind campaign, we invited you and your community to nominate charitable animal organizations. The top 10 organizations voted by communities across Canada each received $5,000 for everyday care necessities, including vaccinations, spaying or neutering, food and nutritional requirements, and more. Six months later, the recipients have shared with us how you were able to help them reach their goals to support animal welfare.

#6 Pawsitive Match Rescue Foundation

Pawsitive Match Rescue Foundation is a Registered Canadian Charity that works hard to rescue cats and dogs from otherwise life-threatening situations in Canada, United States, Mexico and Thailand. The animals in our program come from shelters that have no choice but to euthanize due to overcrowding or because they are shutting down, as well as stray animals that have no home. We also help save animals on local reserves and on a case by case basis, we may assist with owner surrenders. We do not discriminate by age, size, breed, location etc. We are here to help all animals. We are run 100% by dedicated volunteers. 

The majority of our donations go towards the medical care of our animals above and beyond spay and neuter, such as dogs like Cici. Cici is a senior dog who was transferred to us from another shelter that was over capacity. Upon intake we discovered she was having issues walking properly and it was determined she had been living with deformed legs for her whole life and it was only getting worse as she aged. The generous donation from Nutram went towards paying for her surgeries, she has currently had one surgery on both her back legs, and once she has healed she will have another surgery on both her front legs. She is also attending physiotherapy to help her recovery. 

We couldn’t help dogs like Cici without the generosity of our supporters!
