Wow, 2018 really did fly past quickly! We hope that you enjoyed your year with your fluffy buddy and made lots of amazing memories together. But if you didn’t get to complete your bucket list of activities with your pet, don’t worry, you can still end the year off with a bang. We’ve compiled a list of activities that you could do with your best friend on New Year’s Eve.
New Year’s Eve Party

A classic way to celebrate the New Year, with the added twist of making it pet-friendly! You could invite other pets and pet parents, create pet-friendly party hats, make pet-friendly treats or create pet-centric games to keep all guests entertained.
Movie Marathon

Not up for a New Year’s party? A movie marathon curled up on the couch with your best friend will hit the spot. It’ll provide a super chill way to celebrate in the most comfy way possible. Grab some PJ’s, your pet, some great flicks, and settle in for a night of binge watching.
Photo Shoots
Get snapping those Instagram photos. New Year’s provides a great excuse to dress up and take lots of photos with your pets.
Make New Year’s Resolutions With your Pet
via @loki_gram0705
Thinking of what the New Year could bring for you and your pet, why not create a few goals? It’ll be something that you and your pet can bond over all year and look back fondly at. Here are a few suggestions:
- 1 hour walks, 3 times a week – great way to start the New Year off with a health-conscious goal to benefit both you and your pet. Can you go more frequently? Great! The more walks, the merrier, we’re certain your dog won’t mind!
- Switch a sugary snack for a healthy alternative – is your pet hooked on a sugary treat? Try switching it out for a nutritious option with natural sugars, like blueberries or raspberries, packed full of antioxidants
- Read a chapter a day – this is something your pet can’t partake in necessarily, but perhaps you mix up your thriller novel with a pet behavioural book or a pet-themed novel
Star Gazing
via @ouranu
Going out to watch fireworks maybe a bit overwhelming for your pet, but if you still wanted to spend the night out with your pet star gazing might just be for you. It’ll allow you the same splendor of looking up at the lights in the night sky, but will be lower key and be more comfortable for your pet.
Kiss Your Pet at Midnight
Stressed that you don’t have a date for New Year’s? Don’t sweat it. Your pet has been there for you all year, so you can show them a little love when the clock strikes 12.
No matter how you plan to spend the last night of the year, here’s to 2018 and to another year filled with memories, love and health.
